Step 1 - MAP OUT THE AREA THAT MUST BE PAINTED
The majority of paved areas are either rectangular, triangular, square, or circular. To determine the area to be paved, please use the formulae below:
In m2, the area for a square or rectangular shape equals the length multiplied times the breadth.
A triangular area in m2 is the sum of the width and height.
(pi), x radius squared (or R2) Equals m2 surface of a circle
These calculations will show you how many square meters of the area you need to pave.
Step 2 Calculate the Paving 2 and WORK OUT THE MATERIAL NEEDS
Here are some ways to figure out how much bedding you will need to make a solid bed for your new paved space:
The road base will be laid at 100mm depth.
The cubic meters of space required is equal to the area in meters multiplied by 0.1.
Once compacted, you can place the bedding sand at a depth of up to 50mm.
The cubic meters needed are equal to the area of m2 multiplied by 0.05.
Step 3: PREPARING THE WORK AREA
Mark the area you want to pave with string lines and place the timber stakes 50mm beyond the edge of the Las Vegas paving. This will reduce the impact on the string line when digging the ground. Excavate to the paver's level + 100mm for the base of the compacted road and 50mm if you are using compacted bedding sand (i.e. 150mm total
Tip
The foundation should be sloped away from neighboring structures to allow for a 20mm fall per meter.
Step 4 COMPACT THE ROAD BASE AND PLACE IT
Spread the road base with a screed evenly to a depth of 110mm in the area that will be paved. This allows for 10mm settlement during compacting. You can compact the road base using a tamping instrument by thoroughly soaking it in water and then compacting it. Screed rails should be placed at the ends to ensure that the foundation is in the correct place.
Step 5 SPREAD AND COMPACT THE BEDDING SAND
Lay 60mm of bedding sand over the compacted base of the road. The pavers will settle 10mm. Install the screed rails (20mmx40mm metal box metal) and place wooden posts at the ends of the paved area. Finally, level the bedding sand.
STEP 6: PLACING THE PAVERS IN OUR PAVING PROCESS.
Use a rubber mallet to lay the pavers in rows following the layout you chose. Make sure they are level. To check that the pavers are level, place them together with a gap of 3mm.
Tip
While you are paving the space, you can rest your head on pavers that have been laid.
Step 7: Use a Brick Saw to CUT the Pavers ACCORDINGLY.
Use a brick bolster for smaller areas that may require a shorter paver. Then, measure the area and cut the paver accordingly. Assemble your cut pavers in a way that fits together well and is butt connected to adjacent stones.
Tip
A diamond brick saw is recommended for cutting pavers in larger operations.
Step 8: THE EDGES ARE BEING LOOKED
The edges keep the pavers in their place and prevent them from moving around. Dig a trench to the edge of the pavers that are deeper than the bed sand and road base. Mix one bag of concrete 20kg in a wheelbarrow. Mix 2.5 liters of water in a bucket. Then, use a shovel to place the concrete mix against the sides of the pavers that you excavated. The concrete surface should be angled halfway up the paver's side. Smoothen it out using a wooden float.
You must ensure that concrete doesn't get under or onto pavers' surfaces. If it does then remove it as quickly as you can.
